Email Received - 09-01-05 - Chris Sanderson of Roxby. Prior to my moving to the village from North Yorkshire, in February 2002, I had been trying to trace my family tree, both paternal and maternal sides, albeit circumstances led me to return to the scunthorpe area, and it was pure chance that I found a house in Roxby to rent. It was only recently that I discovered that, one Darcy Edward Holgate, born in the village in 1785, and buried at the rear of Roxby church, was / is my 5xG-Grandfather.
