North
Lincolnshire has a unique history due to
the River Humber which borders the North,
its location & its diverse geology &
topography. North Lincolnshire is an area
of natural beauty and is scattered with
historic towns & villages. According
to the Domesday Survey, Barton-upon-Humber
was a more important port than Grimsby &
predates Hull by centuries. Brigg owes its
origins to the bridge over the River Ancholme
& an annual fair which was established
by the Royal Charter from King John in 1205.
