Mount Pleasant Windmill - Kirton-in-Lindsey

Discover Mount Pleasant Windmill in the south of the region standing tall on the cliff at Kirton-in-Lindsey overlooking the Trent Valley.

The mill is in use today to produce a range of organic flours from which organic breads are baked in the traditional wood-fired oven.

Visitors can see the flour been milled & the owners are more then happy to explain the process.

The mill has its own tea-rooms & wholefood shops.

Introduction
The mill was built in 1875 and is a traditional 4 sailed brick tower mill. It was built on the the site of a postmill which was demolished.

The sails were removed in 1936 after 60 years of turning & were not replaced until 1991 when a full restoration was carried out.

Opening Times& Location

Flour is milled whenever the winds are strong enough to turn the sails.

Open Times for the Organic Bakery, Tea-Rooms & Wholefood Shop.
Tuesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm

Closed on Mondays (except Bank Holidays)
